El Nido Cabins

My wife and I worked in the Yakima Valley decades ago and the people and place have remained special. A few years ago we discovered El Nido and have loved each of our many visits. We have been there in 10 degree winter days, 100+ degree summer days, and everything in between. The scale of the place is really rare and the site is beautiful. It is nice for short walks to the pond, lazing in the hammock, or doing work via wifi. The rooms are modest sized but not too small. They are really cleverly appointed and there hasn’t been anything we needed. The rooms are impeccably clean, bed is comfy, and the shower is great-that’s five stars alone. It is a short walk to the center of town and Salvadoran food, Mexican bakery, and hipster wine and food. It’s a friendly and safe vibe. When there we ride our bikes on the beautiful quiet area roads, hike at Cowiche Canyon trail, pick an awesome beer with a view at the Cowiche brewery, and when I need to (and I always do) drive 20 minutes to the Essencia Bakery in Yakima which is the best in all of 509. Ann and Nick are the perfect mix of available and invisible. A stay at El Nido is on our standing regional get away rotation. It’s a gem.

I almost don't want to write a review of this place because I am feeling selfish and don't want to share how amazing it was. But truthfully, this place is exactly like the name suggests. A nest. A nest of comfort, relaxation and gorgeous nature. We stayed in Cabin 4 and it was clean, had everything you'd need in the kitchenette and cute as hell. One of my biggest concerns was whether the cabins would get too hot, as we were visiting when temps were in the high 80s/ low 90s. I was happily surprised to find that despite the heat, the cabins stayed cool thanks to the shade of the trees that surround it. There is also a ceiling fan and an extra box fan in the bathroom if needed. The property is 4 acres of beauty, including an area with a hammock, an area for tent camping, a open field alive with many species of birds and a pond with resident beavers and swallows who feed from the pond in the evenings. You can walk to town, it's literally 3 blocks away. I recommend the bakery for delicious pastries and Fernando's for great Mexican food and the owner is so welcoming. The property owners are great people. Super welcoming, attentive and fun to chat with. I wish I could have stayed longer, as working from home in the city the last few months has felt isolating. If you need a break, come get your soul replenished at El Nido.

We have stayed here multiple times and love visiting El Nido. It’s the perfect place for a quiet getaway or to rent a few cabins with friends. The cabins are thoughtful, clean, and the space is well-curated. Anne is the consummate host and is incredibly communicative and helpful. We can’t wait to return!

I stayed here for a week in early November 2021 and loved my time at El Nido. The cabins are low-key and a little funky since they're from the 1940's, but tastefully refurbished and very functional. I appreciate the analog vibe and lack of digital appliances and televisions - it's a perfect place to retreat from our technology-saturated lives. I stayed here with my dog so I appreciate that El Nido is pet-friendly as well. Tieton is not a place to visit if you need a lot of entertainment like bars, clubs and theaters, but offers some great food, especially Don Mateo and Santos Bakery and other excellent places to eat in nearby Yakima as well. There are some great hiking trails within a short 15-20 minute drive from town. This is a place I plan to return to as often as I can as it offers a much different experience that I'm used to in the Puget Sound Megalopolis and much-needed sun! Thanks El Nido!

This was such a peaceful little cabin. The grounds are lovely and it's easy to walk to everything in Tieton. There's a beautiful little pond, a hammock, a sauna, games, really everything you need to have a wonderful time!

El Nido is our favorite Eastern WA getaway!! Nick & Anne are incredible hosts, and keep the properly neat, but natural. They are ready with suggestions for fun things to do and explore in the area. Great river swimming spots nearby in the Summer, hiking is great in Spring, and snowshoeing in Winter! Cabins, camping, grassy lawn, wetlands, group sanctioned fire pit, picnic tables, parking on site, quiet and just a stones throw from Tieton town square. Whether your dropping in for a quick weekend away from the city or a weeklong retreat, you’ll find everything you need here. Our favorite is Cabin 1, but friends love the other 3 studio cabins, too! If you have a family or a safe a few comfortable friends, highly recommend cabin 6! The bunk beds are large enough for a full grown adult, and comfy. Each spot is just so cozy and well appointed, with a minimalist lean. We have frequently rented out the whole of El Nido for friends trips throughout the pandemic, and it has been wonderful. Get yourself to apple country, and have an excellent stay at El Nido!!

These are charming, clean, comfortable cabins. A fellow guest and I both remarked on how *very* well stocked the kitchenettes are -- better than any place I've ever stayed. The owners are communicative (just the right amount) and the proximity to Tieton Square is perfect. The property is beautiful and the dog loved it, too. I'm hoping to hole up here for a week or longer the next time I stay.

In a sea of "Live, Laugh, Love" adorned vacation rentals of Washington lives the true diamond in the rough: El Nido Cabins of Tieton! This place is exactly what I wanted. Cute, community driven, human-scale, artsy town with a small handful of businesses you want to support? Check. Authentic, comfortable & stylish accommodations that read your mind on the simple accoutrements that you will need during your stay? Check. A real life paradise just 2.5 hours from Seattle? Check. I LOVED it here. My cabin felt like any lovely studio apartment I've had over the years, but just transported someplace else--and with better bedding. The overall vibe invites you to take your time, slow down, slowly make coffee, and maybe explore--or maybe not. I did both. Beyond that, the handmade notes, & guest guides peppered throughout the cabin were delightfully engaging and helpful. They have a great visitors guide with awesome local recommendations--many I tried! I can't recommend this place enough. I lived, laughed, and loved every part of it--and can't wait to visit it in every season!
